Bitty Twins
Nearly all of the dolls made by the American Girl company are female, but if the special little girl in your life would enjoy a boy doll—or perhaps a boy and girl doll to play with together—she would love the Bitty Twins. These dolls are designed for girls ages 3–6 and encourages nurturing care as they play with them. Older editions of these dolls were sold as one boy and one girl, both with blond hair and wearing sleepers. Currently, the Bitty Twins can be purchased in one of ten different combinations: a blonde boy, blonde girl, brunette boy, and brunette girl are all available. They look slightly older than the original Bitty Twins and wear preschooler-style clothing. The Bitty Twins have soft hair, in contrast to Bitty Baby's "molded" hair (vinyl shaped hair of the same material as the rest of the head and limbs). The Bitty Twins also have their own storybooks, accessories, and matching clothes.
