Elizabeth (1774)
Elizabeth Cole is one of the Best Friends dolls. She is Felicity Merriman's best friend, and the two dolls are fun to play with together! Elizabeth has pale blue eyes that open and close, a sweet smile, and blonde hair with a few wispy curls that frame her face. She can also wear earrings! The Elizabeth doll has smooth posable vinyl limbs with sturdy ball joints and a head that can rotate. Her body is soft cloth. Elizabeth wears a coral pink taffeta dress with ivory lace trimming, as well as a shift (historical undergarment), white shoes with pink bows, and stockings. In her accessory set, you will find a fan, choker necklace, pinner cap (small round lace-trimmed hat that sits on the top of her head), and 2 pairs of earrings.
Elizabeth has many beautiful outfits, as well as furniture and accessories designed just for her and Felicity, modeled after authentic items from the 1700s. You can purchase a beautiful bed with blue canopy curtains, a clothes press (colonial counterpart to a chest of drawers), or a dark wood "tilt-top" tea table and chairs. You can even give her a ride in a lovely wooden carriage pulled by a copper-colored horse! Her clothing includes pieces like a pale green summer dress, a floral-print holiday gown with green and gold lining, and a pale pink riding habit. You can read about Elizabeth and her friendship with Felicity in her book, Very Funny, Elizabeth! She and Felicity love to tease Elizabeth's older sister Annabelle, and when Annabelle becomes engaged, there are many new opportunities to make mischief. But how far is too far to take their jokes? This is the only book written from Elizabeth's viewpoint, but she is mentioned many times in Felicity's six-book series as well. She and Felicity become best friends soon after they begin their etiquette lessons at Miss Manderly's, and the girls help each other through hard times in spite of their families' different political views. Elizabeth even helps make Felicity a new dress to wear to the governor's home for a Christmas ball! Elizabeth is also a character in Felicity's movie, Felicity: An American Girl Adventure.
