Nicki (2007)
Nicki Fleming was the fifth Girl of the Year doll to be offered by the American Girl company. Nicki has pale auburn-red hair with big curls, smoky blue eyes that open and close, a freckled face, and a pretty smile. Nicki's arms and legs are posable and her head can turn from side to side. Her head and limbs are made of sturdy vinyl, and her body is soft cloth. Nicki wears a white bodysuit with flower-shaped "eyelets" and pearly buttons, as well as a flowered denim skirt with an attached belt and faux-leather boots.You can purchase extra outfits and accessories designed just for Nicki, to make playtime more interesting and expand her wardrobe. Most of her other clothing reflects her love of the outdoors, such as her ranch outfit and ski wear. Her ranch outfit includes a long-sleeved T-shirt with a horse on it, bright pink corduroy pants trimmed with glass jewels, pale pink chaps, and purple boots that look like snakeskin. Nicki's ski wear has a hot pink sweater, white pants, and burgundy vest with a fur collar and a cute curlicue design. On special occasions, Nicki wears a bright pink lace-trimmed jacket, a beige mesh skirt with pink embroidered flowers, and pink ballet flat shoes decorated with rhinestones. For fun in the snow, don't forget Nicki's ski gear, that includes goggles, a silver striped helmet, and bright orange boots that she can wear with or without her skis. Nicki has two of her own pets: a black spotted dog named Sprocket and a beautiful buckskin horse named Jackson.

Since Nicki was only offered by the American Girl company for a short time, her collection is smaller than most of the company's others. However, she is the same size as all the other Girls of the Year dolls, as well as the dolls in two of American Girl's other collections: the historical dolls and Just Like You dolls. You can purchase clothing, accessories, and furniture from any of these other collections for Nicki, to expand her wardrobe and enhance playtime. The historical and Just Like You collections are quite large, which makes it easy to find special items that would go well with Nicki.

Nicki Fleming loves animals, and is excited to have the chance to train a service dog. Even though it will add to her responsibilities and take away a lot of her free time, she starts training a puppy named Sprocket. The puppy turns out to be hard to handle, and it takes a lot out of Nicki to keep working with him. But she knows her work will make a big difference in someone else's life, and that helps her to keep going. Nicki also learns how to contribute to her family when they need her and help work out differences between her friends.
