Mia (2008)
Mia St. Clair is the sixth Girl of the Year doll to be offered by the American Girl company. Mia has beautiful copper-colored hair, olive green eyes that open and close, a freckled face, and a bright smile. Mia's body is made of soft cloth, while her head and limbs are sturdy vinyl. Her head can turn from side to side and her arms and legs are posable. Mia wears a magenta sweater with a big gray snowflake on one side, a heather-gray skirt with an embroidered waistband, pale pink tights, and bright blue sneakers with pink shoelaces.You can purchase extra outfits, accessories, and furniture designed just for Mia. Since Mia loves skating, most of her outfits are perfect for the ice. For instance, there's her 2-in-1 skate outfit, which has a turquoise short-sleeved turtleneck sweater, a hockey jersey, and a denim skirt that looks great with either top, as well as long gloves, leg warmers, and a fleece hat. This set even comes with a hockey stick and puck! For figure skating competitions, there's Mia's performance outfit, which is a beautiful deep turquoise dress with a sparkly skirt and flowers on the bodice and shoulder. Mia's special accessory set includes a pair of white skates with guards for the blades, a pink music player (which really works!) with pretend headphones, and a purple bag to hold her skating gear. Mia's furniture set is unique because it is three pieces in one: the bed, closet, and desk are all connected to each other. Mia also has something that no other American Girl has: her very own skating rink! This set includes a white rotating doll stand that makes Mia look like she's spinning on the ice, as well as background boards that create both a skating rink scene and an outdoor pond scene. Mia St. Clair has always played ice hockey with her three older brothers, and could become a star hockey player if she wanted to.
